Elastomer Vibrators

All of the vibrators on this page are made in Japan of 100% elastomer, a new and somewhat more expensive material which requires additional effort to manufacture but results in an odor and phthlate free product which works well with both water and silicone based lubricants.

Most commonly available vibrators are made from traditional plastics. Plastics when initially manufactured are quite hard. Softer plastics are made by taking hard plastics and adding softeners or "plasticizers" to them. Phthalates are plasticizers commonly used to soften vinyl plastics. Plasticizers have a distinct odor and the quantity and grade used determine how strong the smell is. The chemical odor given off by a cheap "jelly" vibrator is essentially the vinyl material offgassing the phthalates. Phthlates are not allowed in children's toys or pacifiers.

Elastomers are a completely different type of material which starts out soft. The vibrators on this page are made using a technique where the elastomer is exposed to a compound which makes them harder, and the remainder of the compound is removed in a high vacuum. There is no residual hardener left on the unit. Also, the process does not use any solvents.

100% elastomer vibrators are both phthlate and odor free and can be used safely with silicone lubricants. The products on this page range in texture from somewhat firm to the soft and ultra realistic Softwear Skin.
